We are a group of contributors, mainly me, Aimer Shama, a few friends and family (hopefully you too), contributing to the content you see before you in thebipolarized.com.
It started as a personal blog in 2012, back then simply thebipolarized.wordpress.com, to vent a lot of feelings and share experience at the same time. My tendency to sound official has been criticized, and I was encouraged to get more personal, and that was when my blog got special enough and moved from cool instructive to warm and personal, and gradually popular.
It may still be clumsy-looking, but that is because I still can’t invest enough in a web designer for saving for my drug store (legal, I promise). So far it’s been a one man show, but I thank wordpress.com for making it easy.
About Aimer Shama:
That is actually my pen-name, not for fear of stigma associated with mental illnesses, but because my real name could be hard to pronounce. In English, it could be written as Amr Abo-Shama, but I restricted it to how people tend to say Amr anyway, and my last name but dashless.
Although I studied a lot of subjects, ending with a B.Sc. in Pharmacy and Biotechnology (they call me “doctor” here, but I always wished I could simply be a scientist) I don’t work in the field. It is far too corrupt in my country to get involved in and besmirch my conscience with it, and that I learned leads me to depression and/or mania (latin for madness, but isn’t exactly so). I was and may still be a writer, doctor, small investor and mentor (chiefly language). I aim to open up my own pharmacy soon, but I’m still piecing my capital for that project together.
Well then, that is all about me. Thebipolarized.com is my baby, my plan B, my bipolar blog, and I leave it in your hands.
